Several corvettes come along but not many of them strike you like this one does. Truly unique and rare color combination in Corvette Yellow with Oyster Cloth/Leather interior. Only 2,077 were built in yellow for this model year out of a total of 40,614 total produced. This number does not include this interior combination which would have been special ordered back in the day. This particular corvette has only 39,028 miles and has been well cared for over all of these years. The body lines and fit of this corvette are very nice and both the front and rear bumpers are the original urethane ones with plenty of flex in them and no cracking. The car itself has been repainted at one time and was done very nice. It does have a base coat clear coat finish which will last way more longer and have a better shine than the original lacquer finishes. There is no sloppy overspray as you will see in most as this paint was done nice and things such as emblems and door handles were removed when the car was refinished. All of the window glass is original and in very nice condition as well as the original glass t-top roof panels which are in excellent shape with no cracks or hazing. Weatherstripping is also good round all of the car.
The interior on this car is basically untouched and original condition.
It still does look nice and fresh with no cracks on the seats, door panels, and dash. The instruments all look very good with no fading or wear. The steering wheel is the original one also in nice condition as you can see in the photos. We did replace the carpeted floor mats and the lower center console around the heater and a/c controls. Other than that the carpet, door panels, all trim, etc is original to the car and in about as good as shape as you would ever find. This interior combination is not only unique but very rare to this car and exterior color. As most will know leather became standard equipment back in 1977, however a leather and cloth combination could be ordered like this one. The car does still have the original jack and lug wrench still in place, along with the leather t-top storage bags. The brake pedal and gas pedal as shown does not even have any edges worn as another indication of actual miles to the car. Everything works on the interior of the car including lighting, radio, power antenna, and even the clock still functions. The buzzer even still sounds when the key is left into the ignition. Just another very nice example of a C3 model corvette that we have found.
The engine compartment and chassis are mostly all original and untouched with many markings still visible. Never any undercoating done to the underside to cover up anything. Survivor untouched chassis with the exception of the side mount exhaust system which is being removed and the stock system with catalytic converter put back in its place. This system that was put onto this corvette many years ago was installed to where there was no harm done to the body or chassis. This side exhaust system does not go with the sale of this corvette. The car is being sold with the stock style system in place.

1980 was a year for some improvements which included:
Weight trimmed by using lower density roof panels, reducing the thickness of hood and outer doors, and using aluminum for the differential housing and crossmember. The aluminum intake manifold became standard on the L-48 base engines.
For improved surface quality, urethane was applied during molding to panels forward of the firewall and to roof panels.
New, aerodynamically designed front bumper cover now features and integral air dam and deeply recessed grill and parking lights

This was the last year to see the optional L-82 Engine offered on a Corvette. According to most books, the 4-speed manual transmission was not offered when the L-82 engine was ordered.
