This 1982 Corvette was recently purchased from an estate where the car had been in the same family since new. Only 20,799 miles showing on the odometer and is actual miles. Well preserved and obviously stored inside and correctly as it shows. Finished in Black exterior with Charcoal Leather interior. Only 2,357 corvettes were built in black in 1982 out of 25,407 total produced that year. This Corvette is a true “Survivor” car still retaining its original engine and drivetrain along with the original paint and interior all in excellent condition. You can have a low mileage car that shows age due to not properly storing it and maintaining it like it should be, but you can have one like this car that still looks new in almost everyway and that being the way it was preserved and cared for all of these years. The paint shines well and all of the weatherstripping is like new. Non-smoker vehicle and not driven in any types of bad weather. In fact you can still see visible inspection markings and the original tape that held the shims in on the body mounts when underneath the car. All the original smog equipment is still intact and all of the exhaust system with the catalytic converter is original with the exception of the mufflers that have been recently replaced. The chassis and engine compartment is very original and clean with the labels and markings still visible. The air conditioning does work along with the cruise control, wipers, headlights, etc. Everything is operable on the Corvette and does drive like a new one. Must see to really appreciate the condition and quality of this car. Newer BF/Goodrich Radial T/A Tires have also been recently installed on the car but does still have the original spare tire and wheel along with the jack and lug wrench. All of the glass is real crisp and as new. And it is the original glass! Even the removable glass t-top roof panels are near new condition. The leather storage bags for them are still in the rear storage compartment as well. Just another fine example of a low mileage Corvette that will continue to increase in value as these models right now are the best buys in a classic Corvette. The interior and gauges are also nice and crisp as well as the center console, carpeting, door panels, steering wheel, and seats. The interior still looks like the day it rolled off the assembly line. Original radio intact and working as well as the factory optional cassette player.
Documentation with the car includes the original build sheet, original Dealer Copy Of the Window Sticker, original owners manual, original purchase agreement when sold new, window sticker, original press kit with press photos, several small brochures that were included with the owners manual packet such as consumer information, battery, tires, warranty, etc. Original MSRP back in 1982 on this Corvette was $21,387.59. This was the first year that the Corvette topped a $20,000 price tag when new!

The 1982 Corvette was the last of a generation which dated its basic body structure to 1968 and its chassis to 1963. This was also the first full production year that the Corvette were built in the new Bowling Green Kentucky Assembly Plant. Production was initiated in 1981, but became a full production year in 1982 building a total of 25,407 units.
This was also a year that a manual transmission was not available nor any engine options. The new “700R4’ automatic with overdrive transmission was introduced. This was a new four-speed unit with a torque converter clutch operating in the top three gears. It used a higher first gear ratio (3.07:1) for improved acceleration. Much better fuel economy as well and much less rpms at higher speeds.
Hoods of 1982 models had solenoid-operated doors to direct fresh air directly into the air cleaner during full throttle.
Chevrolet introduced “Cross Fire Injection” on the 1982 Corvette.
This wasn’t fuel injection of the type available in 1957-1965 Corvettes;
rather , it combined two “injectors” with Chevrolet’s Computer Command Control system to achieve better economy, driveability and performance through more precise metering of the fuel. The Computer Command Control itself was refined in 1982 so that it was capable of making eighty adjustments per second compared to ten the previous year. The new fuel metering system used in 1982 included a positive fuel cutoff to prevent engine run-on (dieseling).
The exhaust system of 1982 models were redesigned with a smaller and lighter catalytic converter. The exhaust pipes leading into the converter were redesigned to deliver hotter exhaust gases to the converter to increase its efficiency.
Also liked introduced in 1980, the differential housing and crossmember were made out of aluminum for much lighter weight reduction. The rear leaf spring is also a fiberglass one, which made for a much better ride. All in all the 1982 models are a great car with much more improvements over the previous years making them one of the more better driving cars from the third generation Corvette.
