This 1999 Corvette Convertible has been a local adult owned car and well kept. The Corvette is finished in Torch Red Exterior with Black Leather Interior. What is unique about this one is the white convertible softop. This was original and rare as most were black. The top on this Corvette is still in excellent condition for the age. I was amazed at just how well this convertible top was on this Corvette. The car shows 63,806 miles but could easily pass for a 30,000 mile one. This is still low mileage for a car like this and model year. Still plenty of miles left on this vehicle. In fact the interior and overall condition is pretty amazing when you compare it to others with this kind of miles. The leather is still all nice and has not had the greasy products applied to it like most you will see. The paint is real nice. Only showing a few minor nicks which is to be expected for the age of the car and miles. The lower rockers are not all nicked up and there is not alot of road rash as commonly seen on thes C5 models. The paint still has that nice clear coat shine and is very presentable. The glass is all good, front spoiler is still intact and not all damaged up, in fact there is no major scuffs on the lower front end portion of this Corvette. The wheels are original to the car and recently has had new Michelin A/S Sport Plus Tires that I was told that are run flat and the cost was close to $2,000 alone just for the tires! They have very few miles on them and are the same sizes as the original ones that came off of the car. The interior is in very good shape. Only showing minimal wear on the drivers side seat. There are no tears or rips on the upholstery and the leather steering wheel along with the dash, door panels and carpet all look very nice. There was definitely no abuse to the interior or other parts of this car for that matter. All stock and original and no modifications done to this one. It is a loaded one. In fact it has every option offered except for the body side moldings that can still be added if desired. This one has the optional 6-Speed Manual Transmission along with the F45 (Selective Real Time Damping Suspension) that was a $1,695 option alone. This suspension included driver-adjustable ride control system in three different settings, Tour, Sport, and Performance. This was also the first year for the optional Head Up Display and Power Telescopic Steering Column which this car has both of those features. The Head Up Display (RPO UV6) projected instrument readouts onto the windshield to allow viewing without shifting vision to the instrument panel. The driver could view speedometer, tachometer, water temperature, oil pressure fuel level and turn signals. Or, using a “page switch” feature, the driver could view just speed, just engine revolutions, or certain limited display combinations. A “check gauges” warning alerted the driver to check the instrument panel for a reading not displayed.
A Power Telescoping Steering Column (RPO N37) became optional for 1999 coupes and convertibles, but not hardtop models. It offered plus or minus 20mm of travel from the fixed wheel position. The tilt feature retained manual control and was standard with all models.
Twilight Sentinel (RPO T82) was another new option for 1999, but limited to coupe and convertible models. The system used a low-light sensor to automatically lift the headlight pods and turn on the headlights. Twilight Sentinel also delayed shutoff of headlights to allow exterior illumination after the ignition was turned off. This Corvette has this option as well.
Active Handling System was another option this Corvette has that was introduced in 1998 code(RPO JL4). This provided additional control in slippery conditions or in extreme handling situations. It countered oversteer or understeer by selectively applying individual wheel brakes. Throttle was not affected.
Leather seats were standard with all models and even a cassette player was a standard feature back then.

This is a great entry level C5 Corvette that has alot of miles left in it and is a very nice presentable car that you could show or take on road trips and enjoy. These models are “Great Buys” right now and have more leg room in them than the C6 and C7 models.
