The 2004 model year closed out the fifth generation which was a huge success for GM. When introduced in 1997, there were many changes that improved the car from a completely new engine with a rear transaxle, a Corvette first. Virtually all interior, exterior and suspension components were redesigned for this vehicle which improved interior leg room space and easier entry and exit of the vehicle. Wheelbase and wheel sizes also increased. This was the last year to see the hidden headlights which was first introduced in 1963. This particular Corvette is finished in the stunning optional premium color of Millennium Yellow with black leather interior and matching convertible cloth soft top. Only three owners on this Corvette since new and the previous owner has had the car since May of 2011. The reason the car was sold is the owner had purchased another Corvette. This previous owner here in Missouri kept the car garaged at all time and well maintained with many service receipts all kept together in a three-ring binder that is included with the car. A recent coolant flush and oil change was done and new tires installed due to the age of the originals. All of the service work was performed by GM dealers and is documented. This car shows well and is in excellent condition with minimal wear. The convertible top is near perfect and the interior is very nice for this model year. The paint still shines and shows well but does have a few minor nicks from highway driving. This one is equipped with the optional 6-Speed Manual Transmission which makes for a fun cruise down those long and curvy roads. The plus side to the manual transmission is the fuel mileage. Easily 30 mpg on the highway and in the 25 mpg around the city driving. The rear end gear ratio is alittle lower with the manual, 3.42 Ratio, which makes it feel quicker off the line when driving. At 70 mph in six gear you are turning approx. 1,500 to 1,600 rpms which is just a fast idle.
The previous owner was a car guy and a Corvette enthusiast and knew how to take car of a car. This one also has a nice sounding performance exhaust system with larger tips and is stainless steel and has polished mufflers. A nice added touch to the car.

In 2004 a total of 34,064 Corvettes were produced.
Of those numbers 12,216 were convertibles.
Only 1,094 convertibles were finished in Millennium Yellow.
A rare color for the 2004 model year.
Included with this car is a nice portfolio with previous owner documentation,
Both sets of keys and key fobs, owners manual, window sticker, build sheet,
And service records with receipts documenting that.
A nice example of the last year for the C5 Corvette in the desirable color that was only available until early of the 2005 model year. One of the best shades of yellow in our opinion that GM ever produced on the Corvette.
