Up for sale for the first time in over 20 years is a very nice original example of a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible. This Corvette has only 21,919 miles and has been in our area for the past 20 plus years. Originally this Corvette was delivered to OASC LTD Chevrolet in Baltimore Maryland but has resided in Illinois for much of its life.
The car is finished in Bright Red with Black leather interior. The convertible soft top is the original black canvas that came from the factory and is still in nice condition. This Corvette has the RPO CC2 option which was the removable hardtop that you seldom see and was a $1,995 option alone! This Corvette features almost all options available in the 1990 model year and had an original MSRP back then of $44,958.00.
This Corvette was sold back in 1995 at Uftring Chevrolet in Washington Illinois when at had only 14,861 miles on 02/09/1995.
As far as I can tell this is an original Corvette that does not need restoring. The original paint still shows very well with plenty of shine and no real nicks or chips that I have noticed. All of the glass is still original and good and the weatherstrip seals do not need replacing. The body is all original with no signs of any damage or paint work and does have a clean CarFax Vehicle History Report included with the sale of the car.
The original Goodyear tires are still on this Corvette and although they would be great for having the car judged through N.C.R.S., I would recommend them to be changed if your intention was to drive the vehicle. That is something we can take care of for the buyer at an additional cost. The original aluminum wheels are unique to the 1990 model year only and still have that nice clear coat factory finish on them. Even the original low tire pressure sensor labels are on all four wheels showing the way to dismount the tires without damaging those sensors.
INTERIOR:
The interior on this Corvette is all original as well. A non-smoker vehicle and still looks nice and almost new. The dash pad has not lifted or separated as many do and the instruments have no fading from being out in the sun. This car has always been kept inside and driven on occasion. The leather seats have minimal wear and are the optional sport seats with the Corvette embroidery. The carpet and floor mats are also in excellent original condition. The original Delco/Bose music system is all original as well but currently the radio is not working and I haven’t addressed that issue just yet. The car with little effort in detailing can be one of the nicer 1990 examples you will find as it is getting harder to find these Corvettes that have not been altered or abused.

In 1990 there were a total of 23,646 Corvettes produced.
Out of that number only 7,630 were convertibles.
Only 2,371 had the optional removable hardtop.
Only 696 had the Engine Block Heater Option.
This Corvette was in May of 1990.
Bright Red was the #1 color in 1990 as this one is finished in.
The engine in this Corvette was designated as the L98 and
Was rated at 250 HP. The Tuned Port Injection was first
Introduced in 1985.
A completely new redesigned dash was introduced in 1990
With the first time seeing a driver side airbag and a CD
“Compact Disc Player”. This new interior created a cockpit
Style feeling and the speedometer and fuel gauge were digital
Whereas the other instruments were analog. Also, a glovebox
Was seen on the passenger side dash as previous years only
Had the center console one. This was the last year to see the
Black rubber trim halfway up the body like was done from 1984
Through 1989. The 1990 aluminum wheels were also unique to
This year only.
Included with this Corvette is the original window sticker and
Owners manual portfolio that included the Corvette flash light,
Ink pen, and tire pressure gauge. The hardtop wrench is also
With the car to remove the top. There are both sets of original
Keys and the original knock-outs, all manuals on how to raise
And lower the convertible soft top and the manual on how to
Remove the hardtop are all still with this car as most are missing.
There is paperwork from back in 1995 when it was sold at the
Chevrolet dealership along with an odometer statement on the
Car.
This Corvette recently had right at $2,000 spent on it which
Included all new Delphi fuel injectors and o-rings, new fuel rail
O-ring kit and new fuel pressure regulator diaphragm, plenum
Gaskets, new fuel filter, new fuel pump, strainer and sending
Unit assembly, and a new Delco alternator. The original date
Coded alternator was saved and included with the car.
The fuel lines were completely cleaned before the new parts
Were installed with the fuel tank drained and cleaned.
New fresh 91 octane fuel was added non-ethanol.
This work was performed in June of 2025 and the original
Receipt is included on all of the work done.
C4 model of Corvettes are starting to gain ground and am
Seeing some of these nice low mileage examples increasing
In value.
