This Corvette was in a collection out of Colorado before it came to us here in Missouri. It is simply a stunning and near-perfect example of an original and mostly untouched Corvette. This year marked the 50th Anniversary of the Corvette, and to do so, they offered a special paint scheme but all 2003s had the 50th badging, both on the front nose and the rear trunk deck lid, and the instrumentation had the 50th logo inserted into it. Even the keys had the 50th logo on them, too.
This example is finished in Torch Red exterior with Torch Red leather interior. This color combination is seldom seen, and less than 100 were made like it. This one also has the white vinyl soft top, and it is in “Like New” condition with no wear or wrinkles from being up and down. It’s a striking and clean-looking Corvette and stands apart from the other C5s that you will see.
The overall condition is near #1. The car doesn’t show any wear on the paint, no chips or rock nicks, the exterior trim has no fading and has been stored inside, the interior is about as good as you would ever find with no wrinkles or wear on the seats, door panels, and dash assembly. The floor mats are not the originals and are a set of the Lloyd mats in torch red with the C5 logo. Other than that, the interior of this car is all stock and untouched.
Everything works on this car, including the lumbar on the seats, as this was a common issue that quits working over time. The air conditioning blows cold, and the CD player functions as it should.
The torch red color was discontinued after 2004 and wasn’t seen on a Corvette until 2010.
The torch red interior was also discontinued after 2004. The red-on-red color combination is a show-stopper at any car show or cruise night.
This Corvette has never had any paint work or an accident and comes with a clean CarFax Vehicle History Report. Other documents include the original window sticker, build sheet, original VCR demo tape, a copy of the original MSO, the original soft top operations instruction sheet, a copy of the original dealer invoice, owners manual, and both sets of original keys and key fob transmitters. The trunk, hood, and decklid struts have been replaced as over time they tend to fail and not function properly.
The engine compartment and underside of this Corvette is as nice as the top side.
A new Optima red battery was recently installed, and the rear tires were replaced just this past year at a cost of $1,589.11. The front tires have been replaced at one time. The tires are the exact ones that came on it from day one, and they are the Goodyear Eagle EMT run-flat ones.
All four of the original wheels are in excellent shape with no curb markings or signs of repairs. The finish is just like it had when it left the factory back in 2003.
The car does have a nice bolt-on cat-back Borla performance exhaust system that is stainless steel and polished out to a show finish with larger exhaust tips. This system not only looks nice but sounds much better than the stock setup.
