The Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 began in 1969 as a rebellious, limited-production drag racer, created by dealer Fred Gibb using a COPO (Central Office Production Order) loophole to install an all-aluminum 427ci V8 - originally for Can-Am racing. Only 69 cars were ever produced, making them incredibly rare.
The ZL1 returned in 2012 and evolved into a modern track-focused, supercharged, high-performance track beast, ending its run in 2023 as a 650-hp supercar.
The Sixth-Gen Evolution starting in 2017, the ZL1 featured a 6.2L Supercharged LT4 Corvette Engine from the Z06 (650-hp) on a lighter Alpha platform.
